Princess Fairy tutorial

7:45 AM

Hi,
Today I prepared for you mini mixed media gift box. It is very easy and you will see that it will be great fun.
I work with the newest digi stamp called Princess Fairy, I print it and cut it and coloured it with Copics. It is very important to colour your image with colours which do not react with water (we will use different sprays and colours made on water base and you can ruin your image with it).

Cut from good quality paper (great is paper for watercolours) your gift box base. I made it on my cutting machine Silhouette Cameo but when you look through internet you can find many gift box patterns for free download so do not worry if you do not have such helper. Choose your favourite stencil and any kind of structure paste and make background of your gift box. If you want to speed up process use heat gun to dry this first layer (and later all layers which will be wet).

Now it is time to add some colours, I work with great sprays – Lindy’s stamp gang – you do not have to spray colour you can use any kind of watercolours or any kind of spray (Prima Colour Bloom, Tattered angel etc.) or watercolour pencils.
Spray your base.
Let it dry.

Glue gift box together. I found that is better to work with final shape of gift box than glue it after decorating.
Next steps are preparation of leaves and flowers. You do not need to buy any ready to use flowers. Use any kind of punch or die for Big shot. Cut leaves and colour them. (my are made with Silhouette Cameo)

Cut flowers (my are metal die from My favorite thing – rolled rose) and colour them.
Glue princess and leaves and flowers on box.
Take piece of paper (any white or cream scrap paper) and colour it (I sprayed it again with sprays from Lindy’s stamp gang). With basic punch make mini butterflies – this step is really not necessary to do but with butterflies is gift box so cute.
Glue butterflies.

If you have Glossy accent make small drops over whole box. It looks like morning dew.
Final step is to add more mixed media look. Hide image of princess with scrap paper. Take any kind of white and pink acrylic colour and with brush make small splashes. Let it dry.
And that is really all. I hope you liked my tutorial.

I wish you nice day

Kate
